The teens in Stratford-upon-Avon (Image credit: Frank Noon)
Yesterday, we visited Stratford-upon-Avon, the home of the famous William Shakespeare.
Shortly after arriving, we visited the University of Birmingham’s Shakespeare Institute. We learned about Shakespeare’s upbringing, his inspiration, and even got to see excerpts of As You Like It performed by the Institute’s PhD students. Since many of the students have previously studied Shakespeare, it was incredibly useful to see his work brought to life, just steps in front of us. Following a fantastic performance, we took photos with the cast, then took a boat tour of the village.

After the boat tour, we split into small groups and explored the town. Stratford-upon-Avon is truly gorgeous and has a lot to offer. Each group explored the city independently, had a well-cooked lunch (a mix of fish & chips and Italian food) and then did some last minute souvenir shopping for friends and loved ones.
